LiveCast Named Best In Class Winner In The Sierra Wireless And Wavefront Developer Programme

Company’s mobile video application to be provided with co-marketing support from Sierra Wireless

livecastVancouverLiveCast debuted its LiveCast Pro as a best-in-class application during demonstrations hosted by Sierra Wireless at its Richmond, B.C. facility for the five winners of the Wavefront-Sierra Wireless Developer programme.

During a competitive six-month process LiveCast worked with the developer programme manager to benefit from the training, testing and advisory services provided by Wavefront in Vancouver, and the PC cards, ExpressCards, and USB modems provided by Sierra Wireless, to advance its application development.

“We’d like to put the same LiveCast Pro solution that major news organizations use on a daily basis to go “live to air” and live to the Web, into the hands of entertainers, sports teams, municipalities and many other consumer and enterprise users,” says William Mutual, CEO, LiveCast. “This award and co-marketing support from a leading global corporation such as Sierra Wireless provides us the credibility and increased exposure to dramatically further our sales and marketing objectives.”

“Our mission is to accelerate commercialization for wireless and new media developers and this joint development programme was a great opportunity to showcase the tremendous innovation within the market,” explained James Maynard, President of Wavefront. “Through this partnership, we’ve been able to bring forward five exciting new applications, including Livecast Pro for Sierra Wireless.”

LiveCast Pro enables anyone to instantly stream live video with GPS tracking. This application is designed for a wide range of consumer and commercial uses, and will be an exciting complement to Sierra Wireless products.

The Sierra WirelessWavefront Developer Programme was established to find best-in-class enterprise or consumer applications that take advantage of the mobile broadband and GPS capabilities built into Sierra Wireless PC cards, ExpressCards, and USB modems. All finalists were provided with a Sierra Wireless mobile broadband adapter and a software development kit, as well as support from Sierra Wireless and Wavefront to assist in building their applications. Winners are provided with co-marketing support from Sierra Wireless, including the opportunity to demonstrate their applications within the Sierra Wireless booths at upcoming Mobile World Congress and CTIA trade shows and to have their applications presented to Sierra Wireless’s network operator customers.
