Splatalot Online Games Reach Over 33 Million Plays

The site offers an exciting variety of fun, interactive games that go hand in hand with the TV series. Launched in 2011, the site has become home to Splatalot fans from around the globe and has seen games played an outstanding total of over 33 million times. marblemedia will be attending and speaking at the 2012 INplay conference ^[3] being held today and tomorrow in Toronto, showcasing the best of interactive kids media from around the world.

Created in partnership with YTV in Canada, CBBC in the UK and ABC in Australia, the site’s games have received a staggering 16.3 million visits from over 8 million unique visitors since launching. Splatalot’s most popular online game, Capture the Crown, currently has over 16 million plays alone showing no sign of slowing down.

Responding to the astounding demand, marblemedia has expanded production for Season Two, creating exciting and innovative ways for fans to interact with the show. Funding partners include the Canada Media Fund, Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund and the Shaw Rocket Fund. ^[4]

In production now to launch this fall, the site will receive many updates, including: Explore the Castle will now reflect the latest hilarious obstacles included in Splatalot’s second season, and dozens of clips will be added to The Highlight Shaker, Splatalot’s online video editing tool where kids create their own reels of splats and stumbles. In addition, the updated site will be available for use in French for the first time this fall, with TÉLÉTOON (French Canada).

Adding to the excitement, the site’s new design will feature a Trophy Room where players’ achievements can be displayed in unique ways to maximize engagement. Personalized headlines will announce characters’ reactions to a player’s performance and elation at a player’s new high score. Most of all, the Trophy Room makes sure that shameless bragging has never been this much fun.

One of the major features of the new Splatalot interactive will be the updated version of one of the most popular games on the Season One website. Defender, averaging over 300,000 plays per month, will upgrade to Defender Xtreme, where kids will be able to compete head-to-head in a splatathon against their friends. Defender Xtreme will have a sophisticated back-end that keeps track of players’ scores, matches players based on skill level and weapons, and most of all ensures that this game stays unpredictable and fun while ever ramping up the difficulty level for maximum engagement.
