Pixel Blue College Scholarships At Edmonton Videogame Contest

mini-orbyA Retro Video Game Tournament presented by My Plastic Heaven will be held at Play n Trade, 15983 – 97 Street, Edmonton, on 16 March 2013. Pixel Blue College is pleased to announce that it will be awarding ten $1,000 scholarships to its five or six month diploma programs. Programs which qualify for the scholarship are: 3D Animation, 2D Character Animation, Design and Motion Graphics and Digital Audio Production.

The tournament will operate on an accumulated high score and every contestant will have the opportunity to play four retro games, two NES titles and two SNES titles. The person who has accumulated the highest score throughout the tournament will win the $1,000 grand prize. In keeping with its commitment to support all aspects of Digital Education and Digital expression, Pixel Blue will be giving away ten $1,000 education scholarships to participants in the tournament. The scholarships will be awarded by random draw of all participants.

Aaron Drewniak of My Plastic Heaven has organized the event. My Plastic Heaven hosts an Internet television series about retro video games. Mr. Drewniak remarked, “We are so grateful that Pixel Blue College is putting up $10,000 in scholarships to be given away at the tournament. Having community partners such as Pixel Blue makes such endeavours as this tournament possible and shows their commitment to the gaming community of Edmonton”.
