Award-winning Montreal Artist Captures Universal Themes In Children’s Picture eBook

Orby Reads [1]Award-winning Montreal artist and director JC Little [2] has broken new ground with her first children’s picture eBook. Released on Amazon today for $3.17 CAD, The Last Snowman [3] captures the transition between childhood innocence and adolescence with humor and tenderness. For the young of age and young at heart, The Last Snowman has something for everyone, as noted by NYT Bestselling author Jill Smokler, Annie @ PhD in Parenting Blog and syndicated columnist and author Tracy Beckerman.the last snowman - jc little [3]

There’s an ephemeral grace between childhood innocence and the awakening of adolescence, and this winter story has a timeless appeal for the young in age and the young at heart alike. Told from a mother’s point of view, JC charmingly illustrates the moment when a 14-year-old girl suddenly finds herself caught between the simple pleasure of building a snowman, and the disappointment following the short-lived existence of her creation. Known for her playful style, wit, and ability to demonstrate tender moments in her slice-of-life vignettes, JC drew inspiration for this story from her own life adventures.

“I approach life with humour, even those transitions that can be tough for us as parents,” says JC. “If I’m drawing something I’m really feeling it, and this story came to life from a moment in time that I felt and had to share.”

Montreal-based JC Little is a story artist and animation director, with a career spanning more than 30 years. Her background includes commercials, feature films, the Disney-syndicated and Gemini-nominated kids’ TV show My Life Me, and new media. She is best known online as The Animated Woman [2], and writes a blog of the same name – a very funny blog – seriously. I’ve read it. You should too.
