Papo & Yo is a 3D Puzzle-Platforming Adventure for the PlayStation® Network (PSN) developed by Montreal studio Minority Media Inc. The game is about a young boy named Quico and his best friend Monster, a huge beast with razor-sharp teeth and a very dangerous problem: an addiction to poisonous frogs. The minute Monster sees one hop by, he scarfs it down and flies into a violent, frog-induced rage where no one is safe. And yet, Quico isn’t afraid… he loves his Monster and wants to save him. Going Loud Studios is proud to announce that “DLC Quest” is now available on the Xbox Live Indie Games marketplace. Gamers can download it for 80 MS Points and find out what happens when DLC practices go too far.  In this latest title from the Ottawa-based indie developer,  players will defeat the bad guy, save the world and get the girl in a game that mocks the game development industry and its foibles – but first you’ll need to find coins to buy DLC to enable animation, sound and even pausing. Thankfully DLC Quest is just satire and all of the DLC is purchased with in-game coins, but it could be considered a cautionary tale for the future… Read the rest of this entry »

In the lead-up to the season two premiere of Canadian original scripted series,  Corvid Pictures, Aircraft Pictures and Frantic Films are taking Todd & The Book of Pure Evil online.

Descent into Crowley Heights is a web-based, side-scrolling game that sees players taking on the role of the series’ gang members, who make their way through the familiar world of Todd while battling the enemies and monsters familiar to viewers, all to capture the Book of Pure Evil.

Several mini-game challenges are also available on Facebook, along with an exclusive unlockable character, available for players who track down a special  code.

Crowley Heights is produced by Corvid Pictures, Aircraft Pictures and Frantic Films, with service production and project management by lunch with executive producer Amy Miranda and producer Lily-Ann Lee. Relish Interactive was on board for game development with game design by Scott Hiers, along with game programming by Pixelpusher! and 3D animation by Alchemy.

Crowley Heights is produced with the participation of Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund and the Canada Media Fund.
