Distribution360 has announced the sale of Blue-Zoo’s hit animated preschool series Olive the Ostrich (52 x 5’ episodes) to Nick Jr. in Australia and New Zealand, set to launch in early 2012. The series, narrated by Australian-born entertainer Rolf Harris, has been receiving stellar ratings since its September launch on Nick Jr. in the UK. Distribution360 has announced the sale of three hit preschool series to Hop! Channel in Israel, which is dedicated to preschoolers and their parents. Included in the deal is the hit Blue Zoo-produced animated preschool series Olive the Ostrich, which has been receiving stellar ratings on Nick Jr. in the U.K. since its launch in September; and the marblemedia-produced live action series This is Daniel Cook and This is Emily Yeung, which have aired in over 90 countries, including the U.S. on Disney Junior. International family entertainment rights creation and management company DHX Media is pleased to announce that it has licensed publishing rights in the UK for its hit children’s series Rastamouse to Macmillan Children’s Books. The license, which was heavily sought after by other UK children’s publishers, will enable Macmillan to publish a wide range of Rastamouse products – storybooks, sound books, graphic novels, annuals and ebooks amongst others. Fresh TV has announced the start of production for a new animated musical comedy series, Grojband, a TELETOON Original Production. FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) will serve as the worldwide distributor for television, brand licensing, home entertainment rights and other ancillary rights (excluding Canada) for the series. Geared towards kids 6 to 11 years of age, Grojband is an in-your-face animated comedy that delivers huge laughs and catchy tunes. The rockin’ new series will feature 52 11-minute episodes.
