Visual Effects Veteran Art Repola Joins Gener8 Advisory Board

gener8Vancouver’s Gener8 Digital Media Corp., a rapidly growing company that is redefining the landscape of 3D film production, is pleased to welcome visual effects veteran and producer Art Repola to its advisory board. Repola’s insight and expertise will help shape the company’s direction and further evolve their groundbreaking G83D™ technology, which provides filmmakers with an entirely unique method for creating movies in stereoscopic 3D.
During his decades of film industry experience, Repola has managed the visual effects on nearly 200 live-action films for companies including Walt Disney Studios, Amblin Entertainment, and Industrial Light and Magic. He produced the 3D concert films for the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus; Ultimate X, a large format film based on ESPN’s X-Games; and Universal’s T2: 3-D theme park attraction in collaboration with James Cameron.

According to Rory Armes, Gener8 CEO, “Art’s insight into film production and visual effects will help shape G8’s technology, unique process, and future plans. We are thrilled that he is working with us and we have an opportunity to tap Art Repolainto his depth and breadth of industry knowledge.”

Most recently Repola was the Executive Vice President of Visual Effects & Production at Walt Disney Studios, where he oversaw all aspects of visual effects production for the studio’s motion pictures division. He is also a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, Producers Guild of America, and The Visual Effects Society.
