Ready Set Panic Enters Production On Bill And Sons Towing
Independent Toronto production company Ready, Set, Panic is entering principal photography on 10-part comedic web series Bill & Sons Towing, featuring top-notch Canadian talent. Set in Hamilton, the series stars the award-winning sketch troupe The Imponderables, named one of Variety’s Top 10 Comics to Watch, as the titular thirty-something sons who take over the family’s floundering tow truck business.
After Bill Vanderchuck (Nicholas Campbell) suffers his second heart attack, he turns the shop over to his four sons. But 
since the only thing Eric, Jon, Dave, and Tony have in common are differing opinions on how to run the business, can they keep the family business together without tearing the family apart?
In addition to the funny foursome and Campbell (Da Vinci’s Inquest), rounding out the cast are appearances by Sonja Smits (Traders), Jayne Eastwood (Little Mosque), Daniel Kash (Against The Wall), Angela Asher (18 to Life), Mary Ashton-Toth (Dan for Mayor), Sandy Jobin-Bevans (Life with Boys), and Allana Harkin (Lost Girl).
“The comedic dynamics of the family in Bill & Sons struck a chord with the jury, who related to the misadventures,” said Andra Sheffer, executive director of the Independent Production Fund. “Combined with the great reputation of The Imponderables, this web series was one everyone wanted to see.”

eries co-creators Mark De Angelis (The Ron James Show, Dan for Mayor) and Charles Ketchabaw (To The Hunt) of Ready, Set, Panic serve as executive producers, with director Vivieno Caldenelli (Picnicface, Hotbox), and Shawn Bailey (Kids In The Hall: Death Comes to Town, La Cucina) as interactive producer, handling the iPhone and iPad app for distributing the series via mobile.
“The blue-collar world of tow trucks has this perception of being shady. It’s a hated, but necessary business,” said De Angelis, also the series’ head writer. “Bill & Sons centers around the interpersonal relationships with Bill and his four boys, but storylines touch on everything from angry customers to an ill-conceived bikini calendar photo shoot.”
Leading up to the April launch, Ready, Set, Panic will release video podcasts that act as mini-trailers and will extend the storyline and subplots. The podcasts will continue after the launch and will incorporate themes and topics from past episodes.
These plot extensions will also tie in on Facebook and Twitter. Ready, Set, Panic has also set up a toll-free hotline number at 1-888-485-8149 to gather customer complaints for incorporating into the podcasts, providing a fun and interactive way to engage viewers. Production begins on February 15 in Toronto.
