Interactive Ontario has announced that Jesse Schell, CEO, Schell Games and faculty member at the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University, will be a Keynote speaker at INplay 2012. A much sought after speaker, his past lectures at events such as TED and the DICE Summit have been raved about and in 2004 he was named one of the world’s Top 100 Young Innovators by MIT’s Technology Review. The Ontario government is taking strong action to help eliminate the shock many consumers get from opening their cell phone and wireless services bills. The province is introducing legislation to make it easier to understand the costs and terms of wireless services agreements while ensuring service providers are upfront with information before contracts are signed. IAB Canada has announced that long-time President, Paula Gignac will step down from her current position, beginning September 1, 2012. Gignac, who has led IAB Canada since September 2004, is moving out of the Greater Toronto Area for the next two years (where IAB Canada’s main office is located), in support of her partner who will pursue a Masters Degree elsewhere in Ontario. Crackle, Sony Pictures Television’s (SPT) multi-platform video entertainment network, announced a major distribution expansion today extending its offering of ad-supported full-length movies and television series to all consumers with Sony’s Blu-ray players, BRAVIA televisions and Network Media Players in Canada.
