Vantrix Delivers Breakthrough In Mobile Video Processing With New QuickFire Networks T-Video Platform

Vantrix [1]Vantrix [1], a Montreal-based provider of mobile video optimization and policy enforcement solutions, and San Diego company QuickFire Networks, a pioneer of traffic processing platforms specifically designed for the exponentially increasing demands on today’s service provider network, have announced the availability of a next generation mobile video processing solution. Based on Intel® Core™ i7 processors, the QuickFire Networks’ new T-Video™ V1100 is the first purpose-built mobile video appliance delivering the dramatically improved density operators need to replace a full rack of standard servers with a single appliance, while enabling new services and delivering significantly better mobile video performance.

“The QuickFire Networks T-Video platform is a perfect complement to us to demonstrate the scalable design of our software architecture,” stated Jim Knapik, President and CEO of Vantrix. “Our Bandwidth Optimizer solution easily adapts to the radical new implementation and allows us to scale far beyond what’s currently possible on other commercial platforms.”

“Today’s platforms were designed long before anyone could have predicted the mobile data explosion,” commented Mike Coward, CEO of QuickFire Networks. “Video traffic growth demands ultra-high density platforms so that Service Providers can cost effectively deploy optimization solutions, but the existing platforms are repurposed datacenter and telecom systems designed for other applications. Our T-Video product line was designed from the ground up for mobile video optimization to offer the highest density in the industry, using all capabilities of Intel® CoreTM processors and providing a perfect foundation for Vantrix’ high performance solutions.”

“With mobile video traffic almost doubling every year, video processing density is the number one requirement for service providers,” added Steve Price, General Manager for Intel’s Communications Infrastructure Division. “Intel technology is ideally suited for high scale video optimization and transcode with integrated GPUs and high performance cores to provide the necessary balance of performance and flexibility.”

A live demonstration will be available at the 2013 NAB Show, April 6-11 in Las Vegas, NV. Operators that want early information on how the solution’s significantly more scalable, cost effective, and deployment-friendly approach contrasts with existing commercial-off-the-shelf (“COTS”) solutions, can request a meeting at Mobile World Congress 2013, February 25-28 in Barcelona, Spain by contacting info@quickfirenetworks.com [2].
