Elias Toufexis Announced As Host For The 4th Annual Canadian Videogame Awards

Canadian Video Game Awards [1]I was very happy to see this announcement – I had tweeted several weeks ago that I’d like to see Elias as this year’s host. The producers of the Canadian Videogame Awards [1] are delighted to announce that Elias Toufexis [2] will be the host for this year’s show, to be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre on April 20, 2013. Elias has garnered a loyal and enthusiastic following in the videogame world with dozens of roles in popular games like the Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell series and most notably for his 2012 CVA Best New Character winning role of Adam Jensen in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Elias is also known for his television roles in Supernatural, Smallville, Alphas, Eureka, Lost Girl, and dozens more.

Additionally, Elias will be featured in many 2013 productions including The Legend Of Sarila starring Christopher Plummer, the fantasy/musical Imaginaerum, and the new Splinter Cell game Blacklist.

The 2013 Canadian Videogame Awards will be held during Fan Expo [4] at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Sponsored by Future Shop, the CVAs have become the annual celebration of the best and brightest in the Canadian videogame industry as developers, publishers, and industry leaders from across Canada gather to recognize the outstanding achievements of 2012.

Finalists in all categories will be announced March 18, 2013 when public voting for the Future Shop Fan Choice Award will open. The CVAs are produced by Reboot Communications and Greedy Productions, and are officially endorsed by the Entertainment Software Association of Canada and DigiBC. The producers are joined by a national industry committee of developers and leaders of the Canadian digital entertainment industry.
