Montreal’s Spearhead Games, a new independent game development studio founded by former EA, Ubisoft® and Eidos® team members Simon Darveau and Atul Mehra, is proud to announce its first game, Tiny Brains. Tiny Brains is a 3D co-op action puzzle game in which up to four players can take the role of tiny (but super-powered!) lab animals. Canadian Women in Communications (CWC) is pleased to announce two new appointments to the organization; Joanne Stanley as Executive Director, and Janice McDonald as new board Chair. Ms. Stanley brings more than a decade of experience leading not for profit organizations, most recently as Co-founder and Executive Director of Canadian Women in Technology. Prior to that, Ms. Stanley held senior positions at the Ontario Centres of Excellence and Bell. Social media management system developer HootSuite has appointed Dee Anna McPherson as Vice President of Marketing. McPherson, a marketer with experience in social media and the freemium business model, will lead HootSuite’s marketing team, driving strategy and international expansion for the rapidly growing company. Most recently, McPherson was Vice President of Marketing at Yammer, one of HootSuite’s App Directory integration partners, where she established Enterprise Social Networking as a new category of business software and helped propel Yammer to a leading market position, 300% annual growth and a $1.2 billion acquisition by Microsoft.
