Deadline Extended For Study Of The Canadian Video Game Industry

ESAC [1]The Entertainment Software Association of Canada [1] (ESAC) is working with Nordicity [2] to carry out a study [3] of the video game industry in Canada.  ESAC is calling on all Canadian video game studios to complete a survey that will help evaluate the size, composition and economic impact of this industry on the Canadian economy.

“We’ve extended the survey deadline by a week to make sure we receive the most complete picture of how Canadian video game studios are performing,” says Jayson Hilchie, ESAC President and CEO. “The information will help all of us better understand what’s going on in the Canadian industry and help our collective advocacy efforts as well,” he adds.

ESAC is asking help from studio heads or those with an overall responsibility for administration to complete a 30-minute survey that will help update key stats about this sector. The last survey conducted in 2011 [4] is still often quoted by government and in the media and is one of the only in-depth sources of information about the Canadian video game industry. The 2013 study should prove as critical to understanding our collective challenges and opportunities.

Video game studios and publishers in Canada that have not yet completed this survey can do so before the extended deadline of April 15, 2013 by following this link: www.tinyurl.com/CanVG2013 [3].
