Calgary Startup Dissolve Launches With $5 Million In Funding

dissolveCalgary-based Dissolve is a new stock video marketplace created to simplify the stock video purchase experience. Launching in beta, the venture is backed by $5 million in funding from several former co-founders of Veer and iStockphoto, with participation from iNovia Capital, Dissolve challenges leaders like Getty Images on quality and price. 29 CMF-Funded Productions Receive 60 Gémeaux Awards

Canada Media FundThe Canada Media Fund (CMF) congratulates the winners of the 28th prix Gémeaux who received awards on September 12 and 15. With these awards, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television (ACCT) recognizes the outstanding work of industry professionals in the French language market. The Academy nominated 77 CMF-funded projects that received a combined total of 273 nominations. Of those, 29 productions won a total of 60 Gémeaux Awards, including top winners such as Bye Bye 2012, 19-2, O’, and Tu m’aimes-tu and the People’s Choice Award winner Unité 9. Exploring The Dream World With Mario And Luigi

Nintendo CanadaIn this latest Nintendo 3DS adventure, we travel along with the famous sibling plumbers on a vacation to Pi’illo Island, which of course is not the simple pleasure trip it appears to be. There are new characters and villains (along with the long-familiar ones) to chat up and combat, and as you can expect from a Mario title, there’s a healthy helping of puzzles to solve. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team is a combination of colourful 3D levels and classic 2D side-scrolling action, and in this aspect the game really does shine. There was obviously much time spent in development perfecting this new world into a place that it seems only Nintendo can produce while making full use of the 3DS’ abilities.
