Healthy Me Week Comes To Family Channel, Disney Junior And Disney XD As They Encourage Active Lifestyles Amongst Youth

“As a dancer, it has always been important for me to make healthy choices so I can continue to live an active life. I am excited to be involved in Healthy Me Week, a campaign that encourages young people to eat right and get moving on a daily basis,” said Brittany Raymond, star of Family Channel’s The Next Step. “Everyone has a responsibility to take care of their bodies, so eating well and exercising should be a priority. Plus, depending on how you do it, keeping fit can be fun – not work!”
With Healthy Me Week’s mantra Get Up! Fuel Up! Own Up! in mind, Family Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD have stocked their lineups with special short-form content that demonstrates the importance of being active, eating properly and taking control of one’s health.
Family Channel is airing Disney’s exclusive Magic of Healthy Livingspots, featuring interviews with network stars about how they keep moving all year, and Disney XD pairs the Disney specials Try It with the Canadian-made Disney XD Drops In to showcase physical agility and different sports. Disney Junior’s audience will be privy to an introduction on healthy eating and easy movement ideas on both the French- and English-language channels with popular series such as Mickey Mousekersize, Special Agent Oso: Three Healthy Steps and The Bite-Sized Adventures of Sam Sandwich.
Viewers can learn more about Healthy Me Week by visiting the Family Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD websites to participate in the campaign’s 7-Day Challenge activity and view all the special healthy living shorts featured during the week. The websites also link to Healthy Me Week’s website for information and tips on how Canadian families can maintain healthy lifestyles.
