whistler film festivalThe Whistler Film Festival Society’s renowned annual benefit, Celebrate WFF, takes place on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 7pm to 11pm at the award winning Blue Water Café + Raw Bar in Vancouver. Celebrate WFF marks the 16-week count down to Whistler’s 14th annual cinematic celebration of film. This exclusive evening held in support of creative independence will benefit the Whistler Film Festival Society’s annual programs for Canadian artists, including its industry initiatives, labs and festival.

Jason Priestley, who received the 2013 Whistler Film Festival Trailerblazer Award, is being formally recognized as WFF’s Ambassador. The Vancouver born and Los Angeles based filmmaker continues to be one of the most versatile talents in the entertainment business both in front of and behind the camera.

Celebrate WFF will also toast three entertainment industry leaders who have played a significant role in the Canadian entertainment business and served on the Whistler Film Festival Society Board of Directors up until 2014. Honourees include Arthur Evrensel, Founding Partner of MEP Business Counsel, Bill Thumm, Director of the Nat and Flora Bosa Centre for Film and Animation Capilano University, and filmmaker Lynne Stopkewich.

Playing host to Hollywood North’s business leaders and media luminaries, this festive summer soirée continues to be one of Vancouver’s most engaging and entertaining evenings. Guests will enjoy exquisite cuisine prepared by one of Canada’s most accomplished chefs, Frank Pabst, who orchestrates a memorable East meets West fusion. There will also be special guest appearances, a silent auction and valet parking. Cocktail attire is recommended.

Celebrate WFF tickets are $150 per person with a special offer of $250 for two tickets until July 31, 2014. Tickets are available online or by calling 604-938-3203. Guests are invited to join the Whistler Film Festival Society’s Patrons Circle to receive event tickets as part of an annual package of benefits that include exclusive access to the Whistler Film Festival.
