Canadians may be eagerly waiting for a spring thaw but there’s no one going more bananas over frozen ice than Donkey Kong.  In just three days, the world’s most recognizable primate will finally learn how many bananas were frozen inside a massive block of ice buried deep in the wilderness.    Canadians have until later today, Thursday February 20, to enter the Banana Mania contest at Nintendo of Canada’s Facebook page. You hear that? That’s the sound of bananas being peeled across Canada to celebrate the glorious launch of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. The newest game in the lauded Donkey Kong Country series swings to the Wii U system on February 21, bringing with it beautiful high-definition graphics, cleverly designed platforming action and competitive online leaderboards. The game also heralds the exciting return of fan-favourites Dixie Kong and Funky Kong, as well as Cranky Kong, who is a playable character for the first time in series history. Nintendo detailed major announcements for its Wii U home console and Nintendo 3DS portable system in the first Nintendo Direct of 2014. The final showdown in Agartha takes place now in Funcom‘s The Secret World. The last chapter of the extensive Whispering Tide event has come, and now the players must face a huge 40 man raid challenge to defeat the invasion of Filth. The devastating Filth has been corrupting the world tree itself as it emanates from its source in Tokyo. But the community of players has been fighting against this invasion in a series of collaborative in-game events and is driving the enemies of Gaia back. This latest chapter in the event chain will run until victory has been achieved and the portal to Tokyo has been cleansed. The players will then gain entry to the upcoming Tokyo area when Issue #9 is released.  The Whispering Tide event does not only offer great rewards in the form of epic gear and unique outfits, but this challenge also gives the players the chance to win powerful raid loot.
