Founded by two game developers with a passion for intense experiences, Red Meat Games offers the kind of video games that players have a hunger for, and their first offering is partway through a very successful Kickstarter campaign. Steel & Steam: Episode 1 is a retro fantasy steampunk JRPG situated in a large open world. The studio’s initial funding goal has been met, and the developers are now working towards realizing their stretch goals, to which further contributions received will be applied. Spearhead Games, an independent game studio founded by former EA, Ubisoft® and Eidos® developers, today revealed that it intends to publish Tiny Brains, the co-op puzzle game that drew wide acclaim at this year’s E3, as a PlayStation® 4 launch title in November, alongside simultaneous releases for Xbox LIVE® Arcade and Steam. I have spent several “minutes” (or hours) playing the latest Nintendo title for Wii U over the past few weeks. I was given an advance copy by Nintendo – and to be completely truthful, I never played the first two titles in the franchise so I had no idea what to expect, or what improvements (if any) have advanced the game’s play and features over the previous iterations. I also had absolutely no idea how Pikmin 3 worked or what the premise was. I was also very ill-prepared for the “daily” time limit on exploration and task completion.
