Global IT hosting provider PEER 1 Hosting announced this morning that it has achieved 100,000 downloads of its 3D Map of the Internet smartphone and tablet app, which brings to life the physical appearance of the Internet. With the app, users can view Internet service providers (ISPs), Internet exchange points, universities and other organizations through two view options – Globe and Network. The app, which is available as a free download for iOS and Android devices, also allows users to generate a trace route between where they are located and a destination node, search for where popular companies and domains are, as well as identify their current location on the map. Bartsoft Inc. has released its new iOS mobile application MapCalculator, an app that helps to measure distance from point A to point B, compose complex distance paths or simply measure an area of a soccer field. Map Calculator is very flexible. The app allows users to have the center pin as the guide to compose the path on the map by adding and subtracting anchor points. The information contained in The Download on Digital Report (PDF) was commissioned by WorldPay and created by Loudhouse in March 2013. The survey was conducted among consumers who have purchased digital content and video games online in the last 12 months. The sample comprised 11,483 consumers aged 18+, 10,075 of which purchased digital goods and services and 7,554 who have purchased video games and 6,776 that have purchased both.
