Games shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo video game trade show are usually playable only by the few industry insiders who make the trip to Los Angeles each year, but this year Nintendo and Best Buy are teaming up to make sure people across Canada can get their hands on a select list of Nintendo’s E3 games. Demos of the games will be playable at 21 Canadian Best Buy locations. The games will be playable 4-8 p.m. local time on Wednesday, June 12th, and 1-5 p.m.

The Canada Media Fund (CMF) would like to congratulates all winners of the Youth Media Alliance Awards of Excellence, which were presented last night at a gala held at CBC’s Glenn-Gould Studio in Toronto. The Awards of Excellence recognize the creative talents of those working in children’s & youth television and digital content across Canada – the same talent that has contributed to making Canada a world-leader in children’s & youth content creation. Canadian high tech association CATAAlliance has launched an advocacy Campaign to make it easier for ICT suppliers – particularly SMEs – to do business with Government through adopting a more efficient and simpler G-Cloud Store procurement model. The Campaign, known as G-Cloud First for Canada, would help govern the procurement of new or existing services, and it would require public sector organizations to consider and fully evaluate potential Cloud solutions first – before they consider any other option. CATAAlliance cited the U.K., as model for government modernization, and has taken the initiative to invite U.K. thought leaders to share their best practices with officials at Shared Services Canada (SSC), the Canadian department mandated to transform the delivery of services to citizens. Ninety filmmaking teams from across Canada applied to CineCoup with a two-minute trailer as part of the CineCoup Film Accelerator: a disruptive new model for indie filmmakers to develop, market and finance their feature films. Over the course of 15 weeks, they have advanced through a competitive selection funnel by completing tough weekly missions that are designed to package their projects and build audience support on the CineCoup social web platform.
