The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today a contribution of more than $8.0M in development and marketing support to innovative digital media projects as part of the second round of its 2014-2015 Experimental Stream funding. In December 2014, the CMF announced a contribution of more than $11.0M to 24 projects that received production support. Since 2010, the CMF has contributed $52.5M in development and marketing support to 235 interactive digital media projects as part of the Experimental Stream. Read the rest of this entry »

During a Nintendo Direct presentation earlier today, Nintendo announced that the new Nintendo 3DS XL system will launch in Canada on February 13 at a suggested retail price of $229.99. New Nintendo 3DS XL offers a number of new enhancements designed to offer the smoothest and most engrossing portable gaming possible. Ten Canadian feature films will be screened at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, a record for Canada at Sundance. This outstanding selection will also include five shorts and three video installations. With 10 feature films out of a programmed 123 features, Canada will present the third-largest line-up at Sundance—accounting for 8% of the overall selection—after the United States and the United Kingdom.
