Wands that shoot rainbows, dimension cutting scissors and a flying pony head are just three of the out-of-this-world accessories Princess Star Butterfly is bringing to Disney XD when the animated adventure series Star vs. The Forces of Evil premieres. Debuting as a special one-hour episode on Monday, April 6 at 6 p.m. ET, the quirky comedy follows Star Butterfly, a teen princess from another dimension who, after receiving an all-powerful magic wand for her 14th birthday, is sent to Earth to live with the Diaz family and their responsible son, Marco. Up to six producers from across Canada will be selected to participate in the Whistler Film Festival‘s 2015 Feature Project Lab, an intense two-phase business and creative content development experience for Canadian producers. New for 2015, Phase I will take place over four days from June 21 to June 24 and includes four months of ongoing feedback and project development with advisors. Vancouver’s Carbon3D has emerged from stealth on the main stage of the TED conference with an innovative approach to polymer-based 3D printing that promises to advance the industry beyond basic prototyping to 3D manufacturing. The new Continuous Liquid Interface Production technology (CLIP) harnesses light and oxygen to continuously grow objects from a pool of resin instead of printing them layer-by-layer. The technology was simultaneously introduced to the scientific community as the cover story in the journal Science.
