SEGA has announced that the Company of Heroes™ 2 closed beta is now live. The closed beta playtest for this eagerly anticipated sequel from Relic Entertainment, Inc. features the game’s critically acclaimed competitive multiplayer and skirmish gameplay, giving players access to six maps, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 competitive gameplay, as well as the ability to play alone or with teammates against the AI. California-based studio Trion Worlds has announced the launch of Defiance™, the groundbreaking futuristic online open world shooter for the Xbox 360®, the PlayStation®3 and Windows PC. The Defiance universe will expand even further on April 15th, with the premiere of Syfy Network’s Defiance series, which is shot in Toronto. Independent game development studio Minority Media has announced that its imaginative adventure hit Papo & Yo will be released on Steam on April 18, 2013. Previously available only on PlayStation®Network (PSN), Papo & Yo is receiving a number of updates and improvements for its next release. Ubisoft has released a new Watch_Dogs video, in which viewers can witness the actions of Aiden Pearce in the city of Chicago through the eyes of the Central Operating System (ctOS). The makers of Pipe Trouble, a game pulled from public broadcaster TVO‘s website under severe pressure by media and industry, say their game has been the victim of rampant misinformation and unfairly branded by critics as being an advocate for eco-terrorism. Pop Sandbox, which produced Pipe Trouble, says the game is clearly intended as over-the-top satire — and an engagement tool — that promotes a balanced approach to natural gas development. The game was created to drive awareness about the Six Island Productions documentary film Trouble in the Peace, and prompt a larger discussion surrounding natural gas production.
