Ubisoft® has announced the launch of The Betrayal, the second episode in the three-part Assassin’s Creed III – The Tyranny of King Washington downloadable content series, on Microsoft’s Xbox 360® and Windows PCs. This episode will be available for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system starting tomorrow, March 20th. The Betrayal continues the next chapter in hero Ratonhnhaké:ton’s war against the mad King George Washington, taking gamers to Boston to find an unlikely ally. Pipe Trouble takes a clever new spin on an old arcade classic and uses over-the-top satire to explore ongoing real-world issues surrounding the exploitation of natural gas. Tasked with building their own pipeline, players struggle to balance using the least pipe to make the most money against the impact on local environment and neighbouring farms. On the right, a gas company rep oversees budget and pushes to create the most direct economical route in a race against time. Meanwhile, on the left, a volatile farmer gauges impact on the area and community. Lay your pipeline too close to the pastures and risk springing a leak that kills livestock and makes people sick. Build through forest or near residences and incite protesters that block your way. Suffer a leak or otherwise incite local outrage and you risk sabotage that could sink the operation. We ventured to Vancouver last Thursday (along with my noxious cold & flu bugs) for a half-hour video interview with members of the Next Level Games dev team about the upcoming Nintendo 3DS title Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, which is scheduled for release on March 24th. In this new game, players will guide Luigi through massive ghost-infested mansions on an action-packed hunt for the pieces of the Dark Moon. Armed with the ghost-sucking Poltergust 5000 and other new gadgets, you’ll have to capture ghosts, solve puzzles, and battle monster-sized bosses. Besides Luigi, the game features Professor E. Gadd and his crew of Toads on the “good” side, while on the bad side we have a nice collection of ghost characters – Hiders, Slammers, Greenies, Gobbers, Poltergeists and Polterpups – along with the infamous Boo and that royal baddy, King Boo.
