Electronic Arts Inc. has announced that a downloadable demo for Army of TWO™ The Devil’s Cartel, the next installment of the franchise celebrated for its dynamic two player co-operative gameplay and over-the-top blockbuster action, will be available on Xbox LIVE® Marketplace and PlayStation®Network starting on March 12th. In the demo, players will step into the boots of private military contractors Alpha and Bravo as they embark on a mission to rescue a kidnapped politician while diffusing an additional hostage situation. From the bottom floor of a dangerous drug lab, to the rooftops of a sky rise, Alpha and Bravo must infiltrate the Cartel’s stronghold and overcome hordes of cartel members, all the while working together to survive. Ubisoft Canada has launched a nation-wide program aimed at giving university students a well-deserved break from their studies, Crush Exam Stress and Just Dance. In the process, Ubisoft Canada will also seek to set a world record on Saturday April 6th 2013, with students from university campuses across Canada all dancing simultaneously to Flo Rida’s Good Feeling (video). The program is based on the insight that exam periods are one of the most stressful times for students on campus, and as they cram for finals they are likely to be more reclusive and shy away from physical activity. In collaboration with Edelman and Redwood Strategic, Ubisoft Canada will offer students an escape from their textbooks and create an opportunity to connect through fun and high-energy activities. DodgeBots is a fast action, 3D game that allows gamers to play right in their browser, and make money while they play. DodgeBots is set to launch on the web on March 4th, 2013. With the fan base of eSports growing at a rapid pace over the last few years, more and more gamers are trying to figure out how they can make money while playing the games they love. Frima Studio has announced that the release date of Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov’s Revenge for the PS3 and PS Vita will be April 30th, 2013 in the US, May 1st in Europe and Asia. The sequel to 2009’s hit PS Minis title Zombie Tycoon, Brainhov’s Revenge expands on the hilarious RTS gameplay of the original with new factions of zombies, expansive, detailed maps and Cross Play functionality to link players on consoles and handhelds. Canadian indie developer Phantom Compass takes its upcoming pinball puzzle role-playing game Rollers of the Realm on several side-quests in March. Rollers brings together the drama of RPGs with the fun and skill mastery of pinball, combining physics puzzle play with a unique nudge mechanic. Each character is a pinball, and each scene in the story is a new pinball board. Players can hot-swap characters during play to combat enemies on each board and protect their vulnerable flippers. Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag, the next installment in the company’s best-selling franchise. Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag introduces an all new hero and setting, and will feature the most diverse and seamless Assassin’s Creed world ever created. In development for nearly two years, the game is being spearheaded by one of the veteran Assassin’s Creed teams in Ubisoft Montreal with support from Ubisoft studios in Annecy, Bucharest, Kiev, Quebec, Singapore and Sofia. Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag will be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and 4, Nintendo Wii U, Windows PC and other next generation consoles. CONCRETE is a first-person ‘experience’ from Dark Acre that explores cyberethics through the senses of a cyborg released as part of Breakdance Mcfunkypant’s One Game A Month initiative. Made over the course of the 4 weeks of February, 2013, ‘CONCRETE’ is an experimental game built in Unity 3D for play via web browsers. The player takes on the role of a cyborg tasked with assassination, and given a chance at redemption. It is an expansion on the characters and world introduced in ‘The Apartment‘, Jack’s previous month’s entry. ‘CONCRETE’ utilizes Allegorithmic’s Substance technology, enabling a high level of graphical fidelity at low overhead. The project is the culmination of over 28 months of full-time solo development by Jack and is the second project to be offered for sale via patronage of Dark Acre.
