Family Channel travels to a galaxy far, far away this summer with the premiere of the new crossover special Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars. Debuting Friday, August 8 at 5:30 p.m. ET/PT, the perilous parody takes place in a parallel universe during Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and follows the spontaneous stepbrothers as they embark on an epic adventure across the galaxy. English actor, writer and comedian, Simon Pegg, guest stars as the voice of C-3PO and Candace’s Commanding Officer, along with MythBusters hosts, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, who voice members of the Empire. The B.C. government will be there to support them by providing meeting space and business-to-business matchmaking. Vancouver’s QuickMobile has integrated more than 130 third-party systems into its mobile event app platform, supporting thousands of events and millions of users with diverse solutions. These systems include enterprise social collaboration tools from Salesforce and Jive Software, real-time polling systems from Lumi and registration systems from EventBrite and RegOnline. QuickMobile today announced strategic relationships with several registration software providers in an effort to simplify registration integration into the mobile event app experience. While QuickMobile will continue to support most registration systems, the company will now provide deeper productized offerings and out-of-the-box integration with a select number of solutions, including those provided by AllianceTech, Certain Inc., Cvent, etouches, EventsForce, Opus Solutions and SignUp4. Nominations opened today for games developed in 2014 for the 5^th Annual Canadian Videogame Awards (CVAs), taking place November 21st at The Carlu in the heart of downtown Toronto. With the move to an autumn format, this year’s show will present awards from 2013 and a portion of 2014. As one of the largest producers of videogames in the world, the show will celebrate Canada’s spot on the world stage as a leader in interactive entertainment.
