The BC Technology Industry Association (BCTIA) has announced the finalists for the 2013 Technology Impact Awards (TIAs). Under the awards theme of ‘BC’s Mark on the World’, the 2013 finalists reaffirm British Columbia’s status as innovators in a cross-section of technologies including enterprise software, telecommunications, hardware, biotechnology and nanotechnology. The breadth of technologies being developed, and the markets that they serve, illustrate the strength and diversity of the BC Technology Industry. CDMN Canada 3.0 2013, Canada’s only national digital media conference focused on the commercialization of innovation, will feature world-class speakers, a wide-ranging program and showcase of Canadian entrepreneurship when it gets under way May 14 and 15, 2013 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The Canadian Videogame Awards were handed out in Vancouver this evening, with Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3 taking home six awards including Game of the Year and the Future Shop Fans’ Choice Award. Mass Effect 3 from Bioware took home three awards including Best Console Game and Mark of the Ninja, Assassin’s Creed III and Sound Shapes each won two awards. Best Social/Casual Game went to Funcom’s The Secret World. All the awards were for work developed in Canada and released in 2012. We have hundreds of photos from the red carpet and from the ceremony itself, but as we have to take an emergency trip to Victoria for a family issue, their posting will have to wait.
