Students To Premiere Videos On Digital Citizenship

Media Awareness Network MNETApproximately 25 Grade 3 students in Orleans will premiere their six new videos to highlight “Digital Citizenship”, the theme of this year’s Media Literacy Week. The Week is an annual event held jointly by the Media Awareness Network (MNet) and the Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF). This year’s theme – “Digital Citizenship” – calls on Canadians to encourage young people to reflect on their online lives, and their rights and responsibilities as they navigate the digital world. ConnectED Canada Call For Submissions

ConnectED Canada is a brand new conference focused on involving teachers, students and parents in the drive to move Canada’s educational system forward into the future. The inaugural event will be held on May 25th through 27th 2012 at the Calgary Science School.

The organizers want to focus on establishing a dialogue between those most effected by the evolution of our schools and curriculum, and want to find those who are interested in sparking inspirational and productive conversations. If you have a topic that fits within this model, please fill in the submission form so that organizers can consider your proposal. Deadline for proposals is December 8th, with speaker notifications going out on December 22nd, which is also the date when registration is scheduled to open.
