                 The Documentary Media Society is providing four people with behind-the-scenes work experience, thanks to more than $25,000 in Job Creation Partnership funding. The DOXA Engagement Project will provide up to 29 weeks of on-the-job training at the non-profit media society that runs the DOXA Documentary Film Festival. In addition to the support provided at the DOXA festival, workers are evaluating how the event can be run more efficiently, while expanding its audience. Read the rest of this entry »

Alan Sawyer was a policy wonk who had an extraordinary grasp of the interconnected worlds of technology and creativity. During a varied career that embraced many platforms, he helped many of us in the Canadian media environment make sense of the changing landscape.                  The British Columbia Film Foundation‘s Daryl Duke & William Vince Scholarships are intended to honour the significant contributions of Mr. Duke and Mr. Vince to the film and television industry by assisting in the advanced training of outstanding BC filmmakers.  Two Daryl Duke Scholarships and one William Vince Scholarship – in the amount of $10,000 each – will be awarded to exceptional British Columbians who have completed post secondary studies or equivalent training at an accredited institute in their field, and are entering advanced education in film or interactive media.
